This extraordinary Sterling Silver jewelry bundle is great for any occasion.  The Turquoise Howlite Sterling Silver Cairn Necklace is made by none other than our managing member Quay Flom.  She lives with husband, daughter, and three grandchildren along the beautiful North Shore of Lake Superior just north of Duluth, Minnesota.  The cairn necklace is a great symbol of guidance and following ones own path.

The Cairn Necklace was inspired by trips spent along the North Shore of Lake Superior beaches throwing rocks into the lake, hunting for treasures (beach glass, agates, metal pieces), and enjoying the beauty of nature.  Quay and her family like to build rock cairns along those shores.  A cairn is trail marker or guidepost.  They are very prevalent in the European nations, along hiking trails, and many other places.

This beautiful bundle is made of solid Sterling Silver using a technique called water casting.  The Sterling Silver is heated up using a torch.  Then as the silver heats up, it drops into dish of water creating silver cups.  The cups are hammered flat, a hole is punched in them, and then they are strung onto a handmade Sterling Silver head pin with a Turquoise Howlite bead accent.  Hence, creating the cairn with the stacking of the silver and the Turquoise Howlite.

Chain length measures 18".  Earrings length measures 1.75".  Pendant measures 1" in height.  Made in Duluth, Minnesota, United States.  If you would like a Cairn bundle but with different stones, please contact us via email at or by phone during business hours at 218-398-8196.
